Hope Bowdler, Willstone Hill and Caer Caradoc Social!

Join us for a morning of chatty trail running in the stunning Shropshire Hills!  We'll be covering a number of the hills close to Caer Caradoc, with beautiful views of the surrounding area including The Lawley and the Long Mynd.  Hope Bowdler and Willstone hills are some of the lesser known summits, but also some of my favourites - not only for the views but the fact that some of the climbs and descents are less technical and more runnable than on some!

This route is a figure of 8 at just over 7 miles, but as usual we will be going at a chatty pace with plenty of time to take in our surroundings.  There will inevitably be stretches of walking to climb some of the hills, but we'll have a homemade snack to look forward to when we reach the top of Caer Caradoc!  This is a great way to explore the area and some lesser-known footpaths and enjoy the scenery in a friendly, supportive environment.

The Vending Hut by the layby off the B4371 in Church Stretton (at the top of Sandford Avenue towards Hope Bowdler) is the start/finish point, and will be our venue for any post-run refreshments - they do great ice creams as well as hot drinks and other refreshments. Please make sure to let me know any allergies or dietary requirements for the homemade snack we will enjoy en route.

Our route will be shared beforehand, and the group will be given clear directions/meeting points so anyone wanting to go a little further or faster is welcome to do so. The run leader stays at the rear to keep everyone together.  Due to the time of year there is likely to be a fair bit of mud, the terrain will be a mix of grass and stony footpaths with some stiles on the way.

When purchasing your ticket, you can opt to include an exclusive Romy Design wooden pin as a memento of your run.

Please wear appropriate layers, bearing in mind it's often cooler (and windier!) on the top of a hill! Trail running shoes/trainers with good grip are essential and waterproofs dependent on the weather. Please bring water and any snacks you may need for the trail run - a running pack is highly recommended to ensure you have everything you may need.
